    Depression

Depression is a common but serious mood disorder brought on by a combination of genetic, biological, environmental, and psychological factors. Those struggling with depression may experience severe symptoms that impact how they feel, think, and handle simple day-to-day activities, such as sleeping, eating, or working. Many people often wonder if they are clinically depressed, so it’s important to know the signs, and seek out the advice of medical professionals.

    Anxiety

At some point in their life, every individual will experience anxiety over a stressful situation. Many signs of anxiety, such as nervousness, worry, and fear, are expected and normal biological reactions which can occur until the situation or stressor passes. However, if your symptoms become persistent, overwhelming, or interfere with daily life even when a stressor isn’t present, you may have an anxiety disorder.

    OCD

Obsessive compulsive disorder, commonly abbreviated to OCD, is a psychological disorder in which patients experience persistent, unwanted thoughts that can often be described as obsessions. These unwanted ideas and sensations lead to the patient feeling the need to do certain actions in order to feel a sense of relief. According to the American Psychiatric Foundation, these unwanted behaviors such as repeated hand washing, obsessively checking on things, obsessive cleaning, and many more can significantly interfere with one’s ability to live a happy and healthy life.

    Migraines

Nearly 1 in every 4 households has someone who suffers from migraines. Migraines are moderate to severe headaches, where the pain is most commonly localized to one area of the head. This is a widespread condition, debilitating about 39 million individuals in the United States. Out of these individuals, four million experience 15 migraines every month.

Individuals who experience migraines may also experience visual disturbances, such as blind spots, tunnel vision, or temporary blindness. During a migraine, people might also be sensitive to light, sound, and smell, and some even experience nausea and vomiting.

    PTSD

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, is a psychiatric disorder that tends to occur in individuals who have been involved with a traumatic life event. PTSD is extremely common in survivors of natural disasters, accidents, sexual assault, violence, and other traumatic experiences. PTSD does not discriminate against who it impacts and can affect individuals regardless of their age, background, gender, etc.

Patients who suffer from PTSD often complain about vivid flashbacks, nightmares, and extreme panic attacks. Depending on the details of the trauma and the resources and support available during initial recovery, PTSD can have a dramatic impact on one’s ability to peacefully live their lives without the interruption of crippling anxiety.

    Postpartum Depression

Postpartum depression is a result of childbirth, not a reflection of the parent’s morality or quality as a parent. An early diagnosis and treatment of postpartum depression can help you manage your symptoms and foster a stronger bond with your child after your delivery. If you or a loved one are suffering from postpartum depression
